The Rabbit's New Neighbor

Rosie, a small rabbit with soft brown fur, a cream belly and a sky blue polka-dot scarf, lives deep in the woodland. One morning while nibbling clover she hears a rustling in the ferns and finds a hedgehog family who have just arrived: Mama Hedgehog in her mustard yellow shawl and little Pip, a green leaf behind his ear, both looking lost and worried.

Rosie offers to help, leading them along a mossy trail to the stream and introducing them to Ollie Owl and a family of mice who share berries with Pip. She shows them a fern-ringed hollow that could become a home, and the next morning returns with flowers and a hopping game, while other animals bring feathers, nuts and seeds. This gentle tale by Jane MEADOW follows Rosie's patient kindness and Pip's growing confidence, and can be read on Kids Tale Book.
