High on a sunny cliff, a young phoenix named Ember watches the other birds glide through the valley below and wishes she could join them. Her wings are still small, with only a few red-gold flight feathers beginning to sprout, and her own tries end in hops and tumbles onto the grass. Her grandmother, an elder phoenix with deep crimson and copper feathers, sits beside her and reminds her that wings need time to grow strong.
When a gust of wind knocks Ember onto the moss, Grandmother offers a different lesson: feel the wind first, do not fight it, and learn the rising warm air and the sinking cool air. Ember begins practicing on a low hill, flapping and balancing, getting up after every wobble. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows her patient daily practice toward a calm dawn, and it can be read on Online Masal.
