The Little Cloud Scientist

Mia is a young cloud scientist whose mornings always begin the same way: a mustard yellow raincoat, red rain boots, an orange notebook tucked under her arm and a pencil behind her ear. From her garden she studies the sky, convinced that clouds carry many stories worth writing down. Her constant companion is Pepper, a sparrow wearing a blue ribbon on its leg, who chirps from the fence and trails after her wherever she goes. One day a cloud shaped like a staircase drifts down and settles above the garden, and a soft, breezy voice invites her to climb.

Step by step Mia ascends, noting in her notebook which steps feel fluffy and warm, which sparkle, and which wobble. Seen from above, her garden resembles a green quilt, while fresh cloud shapes keep forming around her. When the wind makes the staircase shake and fear rises, she chooses to observe instead of panicking. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a curious child who turns everyday sky-watching into patient study, and it can be read on Online Masal.
