On the golden savanna, a curious little lion cub named Leo spends his days pouncing through the tall grass and wondering what lies beyond it. One morning he meets Ellie, a chubby grey elephant calf with floppy ears and small white tusks, and though neither has ever seen the other's kind before, the two become fast friends, meeting each day near the old acacia tree to share secrets and dreams.
When a hot, dry afternoon leaves the usual watering hole low and muddy, Leo and Ellie set off across the savanna to search for water. After hours of walking they push through a thicket and discover a hidden pool fed by a cool spring. Rather than keep it for themselves, they return to lead the thirsty animals there, clearing branches, carrying the smallest and weakest, and teaching everyone to take turns and help one another along the dusty path. This gentle tale by Jane MEADOW follows the two young friends as they learn that generosity and teamwork can turn a hard journey into something joyful, and it can be read on Kids Tale Book.
