In the village of Lantern Harbor, autumn brings a special night when villagers send glowing paper lanterns onto the water, each carrying a wish for travellers far away. Grace never misses a lantern night, and this year she spends the afternoon helping the Lantern Keeper, a tall man in a teal wool coat, fold the paper and fix the little candles inside. He tells her that every lantern is a small hello.
When the lanterns are released, they drift sideways and backward against the current, gathering into a glowing line that points toward the cliffs. Grace follows the lights along the shore and finds a hidden cove where a tiny boat lies tipped on the sand beside Pip, a small traveller with lavender-blue skin and shimmering wings. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale for young readers can be read on Online Masal.
