In Cloverfield, a village of winding cobblestone lanes, young Mia practices tailoring in her grandmother's shop. Gran, with her silver braid and round spectacles, tells her that skill grows from practice, yet Mia's fingers stay impatient and her stitches wander. One morning, hunting for a lost button beneath the floorboards, Mia discovers a small golden thimble that glows like a drop of honey. With it on, her needle dances and every stitch turns out straight and strong.

Mia then sets practice aside and lets the thimble work alone. When Mayor Bramble requests costumes for the spring play, the results are neat but plain and dull. Her friend Pip notes that perfect is not the same as wonderful, and Gran gently points out that a thimble can guide a needle but cannot say what to dream. Mia faces a choice between the golden thimble and her own bare hands. This illustrated tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN can be read on Online Masal.
