Maya is looking forward to a class trip to the ocean, hoping to catch sight of a real seal. Dressed in her red boots and yellow raincoat, she hurries along the sandy path until she finds a sign for a seal resting area. On the warm sand rests a small seal pup with silvery grey fur, dark spots and bright black eyes, a blue tag on its flipper showing it comes from the marine centre. Maya wants to move closer, but Ms. Rosa, a friendly volunteer, gently explains that wild babies need space to rest and grow strong.
With a boy named Leo, Maya learns how to watch wildlife: stay quiet, never touch, feed or chase the pups, and use binoculars instead of approaching. When more visitors arrive and want to hurry toward the pup, Maya finds the courage to speak up politely while Leo hands out leaflets. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL introduces young readers to respectful wildlife watching and the work of marine rescue centres, and it can be read on Masal İzle.
