The Fox Cub's Birthday

Freddie the fox cub is turning six, and he wants this birthday to be unlike any other. Dressed in his bright orange fur, blue bow tie and star-covered party hat, he decides to invite three guests who have never attended a fox birthday before: Hedgehog, Rabbit and Little Deer. His mother gently suggests that these new friends may bring traditions of their own, and Freddie soon finds out what that means.

Each guest arrives with something from home. Hedgehog shares a basket of berries passed around the group, Rabbit teaches a clapping and hopping song on a small drum, and Little Deer plays a soft flute tune from the meadow. Between games of hide-and-seek, races and tag, the friends laugh kindly together. Written by Jane MEADOW, this warm tale about hospitality and openness can be read on Kids Tale Book, where young readers follow Freddie as he prepares his party with care and welcomes friends who look and behave differently.
