The Birchwood Key

Pip, a young red fox with one floppy ear and a notch in the other, discovers a tiny birchwood key half-buried in the leaves at the edge of the woods. His mother, Holly, explains that such keys are special and can open secret places, but she also reminds him that finding a key means helping others. Curious, Pip sets out with his best friend Wren, a field mouse, to learn what the key unlocks.

Their search brings them to a tall birch tree with a tiny keyhole. Inside, they meet Old Bramble, an elderly badger who keeps a room full of ancient woodland maps. The maps show forgotten animal trails that have grown over and become blocked, leaving animals lost. This tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows Pip and Wren as they take on the task of clearing the trails with help from other animals. The story can be read on Online Masal.
