In a cozy cottage at the edge of the village, Wizard Bartholomew tends to a long silver beard he trusts as the source of all his magic. Each morning he brushes it with care and offers it a quiet thank-you, and the villagers who know him hold the kind old man dear. His apprentice Pip, a clever child with curly black hair and a cheerful grin, fills the cottage with questions as the two mix potions and try simple spells together.

When Mayor Elspeth invites Bartholomew to lead the magic show at the Great Harvest Ceremony, pride and nerves arrive together. The night before, he sets his beard on the pillow beside him, and morning finds it missing. Certain his power left with it, he calls everything off. Pip wonders aloud whether the magic ever lived in the beard, and the two test the thought with a wilted plant, a candle and a floating teacup. This tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows what Bartholomew learns about where his power truly comes from, and can be read on Online Masal.
