In a green valley, Teacup Town is a place where every home is a giant painted cup with a round door and small windows, and the town hall is an enormous teapot that steams on cold mornings. Ten-year-old Sophie lives in a blue cup with a gold rim, and with a measuring tape on her wrist and a pencil behind her ear she loves to build and mend things. Together with her best friend Mira, she knows every crack and corner of this unusual home.
One sunny morning the ground rumbles and the cups wobble and clink, leaving several houses with long cracks. Mayor Pip wants the cups repaired without changing how they look, so Sophie measures each crack and, recalling Grandpa Otto's story of bendy supports from long ago, designs a flexible frame of wood, wire and rubber pads. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a young maker who relies on observation, patience and teamwork, and it can be read on Online Masal.
