Sophie has counted the days until her seaside holiday, and her first mornings are spent gathering shells, shaping sandcastles and sketching crabs in her notebook. One evening she slips along a narrow path tucked between two large rocks and finds a little hidden beach whose sand glows silver as the light fades. Her parents believe she made it up, so she comes back with pencil and notebook to watch, draw and record whatever she can.

Soon other visitors hear about the shimmering shore and carry the glowing sand away in jars and bags. Sophie sees the light dim night after night and notices tiny silver creatures in the sand. At the marine center, Dr. Maya Okafor explains what they are and how fragile they are. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows Sophie's quiet effort to protect the beach, and it can be read on Online Masal.
