Ollie the otter has a snug burrow on the riverbank, yet he wishes he could keep his dearest belongings close at all times: a lucky stone, a soft reed blanket, and a gathering of shiny pebbles. One bright morning he sets out to make a floating house from driftwood, reeds, and smooth stones, and before long his small craft drifts calmly with his treasures safely aboard.
On that first journey, Ollie crosses paths with Mara the beaver, who shows him how to steady reed walls against strong currents, Pip the kingfisher, who points the way through the safest channels, and Gran, an old turtle who speaks quietly about safety, comfort, and the friends who share them. When rushing water damages his house in a fast stretch of the river, Ollie comes to understand how much these new companions mean to him. This gentle animal story by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN can be read on Online Masal.
