Pip is a gentle porcupine who lives in a cozy burrow beneath a big oak tree. With his soft tan-brown fur, cream belly and dozens of long quills fanning over his back and head, he wears a small red neckerchief and carries one great wish: to hold a balloon. Each day he watches red, blue, yellow and green balloons drift over the meadow like happy little moons, yet every attempt to hold one ends with a loud BANG as his sharp quills burst it, leaving his rosy cheeks sad and pink.
One sunny morning Pip spots a shiny red balloon tangled in a bush, and hope returns, only for it to pop on contact. His best friend Milly the mouse, a tiny inventor in blue denim overalls with a red pencil behind one ear, decides this problem needs an invention. The tale by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK follows the two friends as they build and test a balloon holder, then share it with the other animals.
