One bright, cold morning at the edge of the frozen sea, a small penguin steps out of its cozy igloo and gazes up at the clouds, wondering what they feel like. Suddenly, the igloo shivers, creaks, and lifts off the ice, carrying the startled penguin up past snowy hills and sleeping seals. Igloos are not supposed to fly, and the little bird has no idea how to steer or how to return to the calm home it loves.
High in the windy sky, the penguin meets a petrel, a graceful seabird with long grey-and-white wings and kind eyes, who offers to fly beside the igloo for a while. Instead of taking over, the petrel teaches the penguin simple things: to take a slow, deep breath, to lean with the wind, to wait when the gusts grow strong, and to look carefully one small thing at a time when the clouds close in and the way home seems lost. Together they search for the sparkle of blue that means the sea. This gentle tale by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK can be read on Onlinemasal Com.Tr.
