Nori is a gentle narwhal who lives in the sparkling blue ocean, with smooth blue-grey skin, pale mottled spots and a long spiral tusk. On his birthday, his best friend Bella the beluga wants to make the day special. Together with Tilly the sea turtle and Sammy the seahorse, she collects shells, seaweed and shiny pebbles, then decorates a cozy spot near a tall kelp forest with strings of glowing bubbles. Nori, wearing his green party hat, watches the preparations with a shy smile.
Just as the last decoration is placed, a big wave rolls through the kelp forest and sweeps everything away. The bubbles pop, the shells tumble and the seaweed ribbons vanish, leaving the friends sad and the party looking plain. Bella thinks hard and finds another way for the friends to celebrate together. This warm underwater tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle and is suited to children in the early primary years, especially as a read-aloud story about friendship and shared fun.
