Milo the marmot lives in a snug burrow under a large pine tree, and one bright morning his digging uncovers a rolled-up parchment map. It shows a winding path, a tall peak and a spot marked with a flower, and Milo becomes convinced it points to a hidden flower garden. The only trouble is that the squiggly lines and tiny words confuse him, so he sets off to ask his friend Pippa the pika for help.

Pippa, small and quick with a red neckerchief and a little blue notebook, can read the map, and the two friends begin the climb up the mountain trail together. They look for a tall pine with a crooked top, find a safer way around a heap of gray rocks, cross a cold, fast stream on flat stones, and pause in a wildflower meadow when Milo's short legs grow tired. When a gust of wind carries the map onto a high ledge, each friend must lean on the other's strengths. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
