The Little Zebra's Friend

On the golden savanna, a curious little zebra named Zara likes to greet the hippos and giraffes and search for new friends. One morning she hears a worried voice in the tall grass and meets Ollie, a young ostrich with a tiny red scarf whose legs tremble at the thought of the big savanna race. He fears he may trip, fall behind, or be laughed at, and Zara offers to help him practice.

Day after day the two train at a gentle pace, with Zara matching Ollie's stride and showing him how to lift his long legs and keep his eyes on the path. When he stumbles and wants to stop, she reminds him that everyone trips and that getting up again is what counts. Written by Jane MEADOW, this gentle story about courage and encouragement can be read on Kids Tale Book.
