On a bright morning in the bushland, a small quokka ties his red polka-dot neckerchief, takes his woven picnic basket and heads out expecting a perfect day. Beneath a gum tree he lays out a checkered blanket and sets down crunchy carrots, sweet berries and tiny sandwiches. Then he spots a shy wallaby in a blue knitted scarf peeking from behind a bush, too nervous to step forward.
The quokka invites the wallaby to join him, and sharing food and playing with a little ball soon eases the wallaby's worry. When other timid neighbours, among them a possum, a bandicoot and a numbat, look out from the bushes, the wallaby recalls how it felt to be new and helps the quokka make them welcome. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL explores kindness, inclusion and the courage it takes to approach someone new, and can be read on Masal İzle.
