High above the world, on the quiet silver moon, lives a tiny moon rabbit with soft silver-white fur, tall ears with pale pink tips, and round dark blue eyes that sparkle like stars. It carries a small woven star-basket wherever it hops, ready to collect messages. One clear night it notices a six-year-old girl named Mira standing at her window far below, flashing a moonbeam up at the sky with a little silver hand mirror. The rabbit waves back with a tiny paw, and a friendship begins that crosses the enormous distance between the moon and Earth.

Because they cannot visit each other, Mira and the rabbit learn to share their days through twinkles and flashes of light. Mira tells the rabbit about a wobbly tooth, a ladybug on the windowsill and a new song from school, while the rabbit describes shooting stars, sleepy clouds and craters that look like smiles. When Mira loses her favorite hair ribbon with the tiny red hearts, the rabbit sprinkles moon-dust along a moonbeam to turn the search into a treasure hunt. When the rabbit feels lonely on the silent moon, Mira's warm flash reminds it that she is still there. This warm bedtime tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
