In the heart of the woodland, a small, cheerful hedgehog with a red polka-dot scarf and a woven satchel for berries spends his days happily. One morning, near a mossy log, he hears a sniffle and finds a little dormouse in a blue knitted hat and scarf, her glossy eyes full of worry. She is not lost but lonely, and the woodland feels too big to face alone. The hedgehog offers to show her a secret place that will cheer her up, and she nervously follows him through ferns, under low branches, and past a babbling brook.

He leads her through a hidden gap in a thick hedge into a garden full of berry bushes, bright flowers, butterflies, and a little pool where dragonflies skim the water. There they share sweet berries, play hide-and-seek among the trees, and rest under a big oak. When a rustle in the leaves startles the dormouse, the hedgehog gently shows her it is only a friendly robin, and she finds that she is not scared when he is beside her. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, which can be read on Masal İzle, follows the two animals as their new friendship turns a frightening woodland into a place that feels like home, showing young children that having a friend makes any place feel safe and that friends help each other feel brave.
