The Hornbill's Housewarming

High in the tallest treetop, Horry the hornbill lives among glossy black feathers and a golden beak. Each morning he sings to greet the sun and the forest creatures below. One day, he notices a squirrel family moving into a nearby oak: Mama Squirrel, shy and carrying a satchel of nuts; Papa Squirrel, with a twig-and-leaf cap and a warm orange scarf; and little Pip, who hides behind his mother's tail but peeks out with big round eyes. Horry swoops down to welcome them and decides to host a housewarming party in his treetop home.

Horry carefully plans games that suit each guest: leaf-painting for shy Mama Squirrel, acorn-toss for playful Papa Squirrel, and a vine maze for little Pip. On the day of the party, the squirrel family climbs up to the treetop, where Horry has decorated with flowers and soft moss. The games help everyone relax and have fun. Mama Squirrel discovers she enjoys painting, Papa Squirrel cheerfully tosses acorns, and Pip proudly completes the maze. As the sun sets, they share a feast of berries, nuts, and sweet sap.
