Seven-year-old Leo, small for his age, rarely goes anywhere without his sketchbook. When his class visits a bat conservation center, he hopes to draw a real bat but feels nervous about meeting one. Ranger Mia, a friendly guide in a green uniform, leads the children into a dim room where tiny bats hang wrapped in their wings. Leo steps back, clutching his sketchbook, until Mia gently introduces Pip, a palm-sized rescued bat with soft brown fur, round amber eyes and a small identification band on one wing. As Pip blinks and wiggles her pink nose, Leo's fear begins to give way to curiosity.

Mia explains how bats help nature by eating insects and pollinating flowers, and how many are losing the safe roosts they need to rest. Leo listens carefully, then opens his sketchbook and draws Pip, capturing her eyes, her nose and the band on her wing. Back home, he turns his drawings into a simple illustrated guide with plain messages: bats are gentle, bats need safe roosts, we can help. When his teacher, Ms. Chen, invites him to present it, Leo stands before the class, nervous but excited, and shares what he has learned. This tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
