Charlie is an eight-year-old boy with messy dark brown hair and a big imagination. One Monday morning, while looking for a pencil in his desk, he discovers a tiny lime-green dinosaur no bigger than his palm. When the little creature nibbles his blank homework sheet and swallows it whole, Charlie believes he has found the perfect excuse for unfinished work. He feeds it his math homework, his spelling list and his book report, and each meal makes the dinosaur grow bigger.
Soon the dinosaur is too large for the desk drawer, and classroom materials start to vanish, from textbooks and the alphabet poster to the teacher's chair. Charlie hides it in the supply closet, but keeping the secret becomes harder and harder. This gentle, funny tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN shows young readers why excuses and hidden mistakes tend to grow, and how much lighter a problem becomes once it is shared with a trusted adult. The story can be read on Online Masal.
