Amelia is drawn to the evenings when she climbs onto the garden wall and watches hundreds of starlings sweep across the pink and gold sky. Their glossy black feathers catch the light with green and purple, and the birds swoop, swirl and turn together as one shimmering ribbon, never bumping or crashing. Amelia wonders how they know exactly what each other will do, and she feels as if she has been let in on a secret.

That secret gives her an idea: she could create a dance like the starlings. Dancing alone in her room feels wrong, though, because the starlings are never alone. With encouragement from her teacher, Mrs. Hart, Amelia gathers her classmates in the playground and teaches them to swoop and turn together. At first the children bump into each other and move in different directions, but day after day they practise, learning to watch one another and listen. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
