Maya is a young girl with a deep interest in seahorses and a wish to become an expert on them. Her visit to a marine conservation center with her Aunt Rosa brings her face to face with Dr. Salim, who shows her Pip, a tiny pygmy seahorse that lives among seagrass. Through this encounter, Maya comes to understand how much seahorses depend on seagrass meadows for shelter, and she also learns that these habitats are growing smaller because of pollution and careless boat anchors.
Wanting to do something useful, Maya chooses to build a model of a seagrass meadow so that others can see why it matters. With Aunt Rosa beside her, she assembles a diorama from a shoebox, green paper and clay, shaping seagrass blades and a miniature seahorse with a numbered tag like Pip's. While rehearsing her presentation, she finds a way to show habitat damage as well, and her model becomes a tool for teaching others about conservation. Written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, the tale can be read on Masal İzle.
