Maya loves the ocean and spends windy days at the harbor, listening to the waves and wondering what the sea might be saying. Her curiosity leads her to Grandpa Sol, a retired fisherman who wears a silver whale-tail pendant. He shares his old recordings of whale sounds, and Maya is captivated by the clicks, whistles, and calls she hears. She learns that whales use these sounds to greet one another, share news, and stay together, much like friends calling across a playground.
Inspired by what she has discovered, Maya decides to create a classroom exhibit about whale communication. With help from Grandpa Sol and her friend Ben, she prepares a poster, paper whales, and a speaker for the presentation. On the day of the exhibit, she feels nervous and excited as the recordings play and her classmates respond with wonder. This heartwarming story by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL teaches children about listening and curiosity, and it can be read on Masal İzle.
