Maya, a young girl with a gap-toothed smile, sits on her back steps in her favorite yellow t-shirt and green rubber boots. When a tiny hummingbird with a ruby throat and a silver band on its leg darts into her garden, she names him Pip and is instantly captivated. Her grandmother, Rosa, suggests planting native trumpet-shaped flowers to attract more hummingbirds. Together, they dig, plant seeds, and wait patiently.
Maya waters the seeds daily, and soon green shoots appear, followed by buds and vibrant blooms. Pip returns, and the garden becomes a haven for other birds like bluebirds, goldfinches, and robins, as well as butterflies and bees. As summer turns to fall, Grandma Rosa explains that hummingbirds need to fuel up for their long migration south. One morning, Pip is gone, but Maya takes pride in knowing her garden helped him. Weeks later, Pip returns, proving the garden's importance. This heartwarming story by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL teaches children about patience, the rewards of nurturing nature, and the role gardens play in supporting wildlife. You can read this tale on Masal İzle.
