One breezy morning, the village of Willowfield looks up to find a small bookshop floating through the sky, held aloft by dozens of enormous balloons. It comes to rest above the village green, and a rope ladder drops down. Out steps Mrs. Marlow, a silver-haired woman in a teal coat, who welcomes the children aboard. Pip, a freckled girl in red boots, climbs first, followed by careful Toby with his compass and Luna, a small lavender creature with a glowing tail who seems to sense the wind.
Inside, the shelves are full of puzzle books with locks, tiny doors, folded maps and miniature adventures. Pip unlocks a paper maze with a golden key, Toby studies star maps and secret codes, and Luna lights the dark corners as she scurries along. Mrs. Marlow explains that every book opens a new idea and every idea opens a new door. When the sky turns grey and the wind begins to strain at the balloons, the children must work together to hold the shop steady. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN can be read on Online Masal.
