In a village at the edge of the northern hills, a boy named Luka watches the reindeer herd that returns each autumn to the ridge behind his house. With his mother beside him, he records what he sees in a small notebook and learns the word migration as she explains how the animals travel with the seasons. Through the winter he follows their tracks, gives a white-foreheaded calf the name Snowpatch, and charts each day's route on a large sheet of paper.

When spring arrives, Luka notices a new fence crossing one of the herd's familiar paths, and the reindeer stop, unable to pass. His mother tells him that animals need connected landscapes, so he builds a model of the hills, valleys, river and seasonal routes, adding a small gate where the real fence stands. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER follows Luka as he brings his model to the village meeting, and it can be read on Masalcı Baba. It invites young readers to notice migration, animal paths and connected habitats.
