Rusty is a young raccoon with grey fur, a black mask around his amber eyes and a fluffy ringed tail, living in a snug hollow under an old oak tree. His days are spent exploring the forest and asking questions about everything he sees. During a rainy afternoon of tidying, he lifts a loose board behind his bed and finds a small hidden drawer filled with old photographs that have yellowed with time. The animals in them are strangers to him, so he decides to seek help from someone wise.
Wearing his red neckerchief, Rusty visits Elder Opossum, a neighbour with pale fur, a pink snout, round spectacles and a knitted mustard shawl. At her wooden table they lay out the photographs and study them one by one. She names the faces for him and explains who built the drawer and why it was kept safe through the family. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER, which can be read on Masalcı Baba, shows how pictures and stories carry family history across generations.
