Leo is a curious boy who spends his afternoons reading about the coral reef and filling a notebook with drawings of clownfish, sea turtles and tiny crabs. He understands that every creature on the reef has a job and that each one depends on the others, a lesson he shares with his mother at home. When his teacher, Nana Rose, announces that the class will build a coral reef model, Leo is eager to be the reef expert, but he soon realises the project is far too big to finish on his own.
Help arrives in the form of Mia, a cheerful girl with honey-blonde braids who loves to paint, and Sam, a tall boy in an orange cap who is strong, handy with glue and always ready with a joke. Together the three friends make a plan, divide the work and slowly bring the reef to life with coral, seaweed, clay animals and a hand-painted sign reading "Protect the Ocean!" As the model grows, so does their understanding of how the ocean works and why it needs care. This gentle, warmly illustrated tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle and is suited to early primary school children, parents and teachers who want to open conversations about cooperation, marine life and caring for the environment.
