Leo, a boy in a mustard-yellow raincoat and blue rubber boots, walks to the pond with his canvas satchel holding a watercolor journal and a paint tin. He hopes to paint a little heron he once saw there, but when he leans forward to begin, the bird lifts its long thin neck and flies away over the reeds, leaving an empty page behind.

The next day Leo returns on quiet feet and sits far back on a mossy stone, keeping still even when his legs want to wiggle. In this gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, patience rather than chasing brings the pond's treasures close. Day after day he paints the reeds, the lily pads and the heron's quick beak, and he soon brings his little sister Mia to share the quiet watch. The story can be read on Masal İzle.
