On a bright morning, Leo puts on his green rubber boots and goes out to explore the garden. Among the bees, butterflies and ants, he finds something unexpected beneath a bush: a tiny hedgehog, small enough to fit in his hand, with soft brown spines, a pale face and a little blue ribbon tied loosely around one spine. Leo's mother tells him that hedgehogs search for slugs, beetles and worms at night, and that high fences and busy roads make their travels risky.

Full of questions, Leo turns to the neighbours. Mrs. Patel explains that hedgehogs need small gaps in fences so they can move safely from one garden to the next, and Leo decides to do something about it. With his mother he visits Mrs. Patel and Mr. Chen, and the idea spreads along the street. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL follows a child's curiosity about wildlife and the shared effort it inspires, and it can be read on Masal İzle.
