Sam is a curious boy who spends his mornings before school in the garden, observing butterflies through a round magnifying glass. His dusty yellow t-shirt and blue shorts show how often he kneels in the dirt, and his big brown eyes catch every tiny wing. When a small orange butterfly with black edges and white spots starts visiting his pink roses, Sam begins drawing it in a notebook and counting which flowers it prefers. Through these quiet mornings, he comes to see that butterflies need flowers, and flowers need butterflies and bees in return.
At school, his teacher Mrs. Lee explains how pollinators carry pollen between flowers so plants can make seeds and fruit. When Sam asks what happens without flowers, he learns that many gardens are disappearing and pollinators have nowhere to find food. Looking at the gray schoolyard, he decides to act. With his friend Maya, Mrs. Lee's seeds and a watering can, the class plants a pollinator garden, and Sam discovers that growing things takes patience and care. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
