When night falls over the forest, Willow the wolf pup leaves his den to follow the trails of mint and moss, his blue collar jingling softly. Above him, Oscar the owl glides on silent wings, watching everything below with golden eyes. The two soon meet and learn that one sees the world from the ground while the other sees it from the sky.
Their night becomes busier when Oscar notices something small and pale near a hollow log and Willow picks up a scent that seems soft and scared. Together they find Pip, a baby rabbit who has lost the way to his burrow. Willow follows the trail with his nose while Oscar calls directions from above, and the path grows trickier where it splits. Jane MEADOW's gentle story about different strengths fitting together can be read on Kids Tale Book.
