In the heart of a lush rainforest, Milo the monkey spends his days racing through the trees, teasing a sleepy frog and a beetle as he dashes past flowers and bees. He never pauses to notice the world around him until he encounters Sam, a calm sloth hanging upside down with a slow, sleepy smile. When Milo challenges Sam to a race, Sam explains that he prefers to take his time and points out a tiny frog on a leaf and a dew-covered spider web glistening like beads of light.

Milo begins to see how much he has missed by always rushing. The two new friends decide to explore together, each at his own pace, and Milo discovers the small wonders that appear when he slows down. This gentle tale by Jane MEADOW shows that friends don't have to be alike to help each other and that both hurrying and slowing down have their own rewards. The story can be read on Kids Tale Book.
