The Little Wombat

Under an old gum tree, a little wombat with round brown fur, a tan belly and short legs keeps a burrow lined with soft leaves. His small red backpack is always ready, and one sunny day he fills it with a snack and a shiny pebble before setting out to explore the bush. On the way he meets a spiky echidna with a slender snout and a tiny yellow scarf, and the two quickly become friends and decide to explore together.

Their wandering brings them to a dark, half-hidden tunnel. The wombat is frightened at first, but the echidna stays beside him and urges him on. Inside, they come upon a hidden room of sparkling crystals, a small stream, a heart-shaped stone and glowing moss, and they find a cozy den to keep as their own secret hideout.
