In a magical kingdom where four lands meet, a green meadow with space for everyone hosts the Great Friendship Festival. Ruby, a young rabbit with soft cream-white fur who loves making lists, decides to organize a celebration of every animal's special talent. Wearing her sky-blue vest with daisy-stitched pockets and a red ribbon bow, she plans music, dancing, helpers and plenty of kindness. Knowing she cannot manage alone, she asks Moss, a big brown bear with a green knitted scarf, to build a stage, while Pip, a tiny bird in a red acorn-cap hat, spreads the word. Animals soon arrive from forests, mountains, rivers and oceans, each bringing something to share.
The greatest surprise comes when Pearl, a giant blue-grey whale wearing a garland of seashells, swims up the river. Shy and unsure whether there is room for her, Pearl is welcomed by Ruby, who reminds her that there is always room for a friend. The animals then face a challenge: how can a whale sing at a festival on land? Together they work out a solution, and Pearl practices with Moss's gentle encouragement as the meadow grows calm.
