Maya loves Butterfly Valley more than anywhere else. Each morning she puts on her yellow rain boots and runs through the meadow with her canvas satchel, looking for butterflies. But the valley no longer teems with them as it once did. Grandpa Luis recalls a time when butterflies filled the air like orange and yellow snow, and he explains that the flowers the butterflies need have disappeared.
Determined to help, Maya joins Miss Rosa, who gives her native flower seeds. Together they visit neighbors, asking them to plant flowers. Some are too busy at first, but Maya's enthusiasm spreads, and soon a small group plants seeds around the valley. They wait through spring rains and summer heat, tending the growing plants. Just as Maya begins to lose hope, a monarch butterfly named Pip appears, and more follow. This heartwarming story, written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, teaches children about community, patience, and caring for nature. It can be read on Masal İzle.
