High on a sunny mountain, Pip the pika fills a small woven satchel each morning with grass and seeds. A rumbling sound behind a boulder brings Bramble, a marmot in a knitted brown scarf, and the two become friends right away. Soon Twig, a mountain finch with a blue ribbon on one leg, arrives with news that the winds are shifting and winter will come early. The three begin to get ready together.
Each friend adds what he or she does best: Pip gathers seeds, nuts and dried grass, Bramble digs warm burrows, and Twig flies over the slopes reporting grey clouds, a hollow log full of nuts and thick grass. As the first snowflakes fall and the work is not yet done, they continue side by side, encouraging one another. Written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, this gentle tale about cooperation can be read on Masal İzle and suits bedtime reading or early readers.
