Maya has long hoped to see real wallabies, and at last the day comes when she walks up the path to the sanctuary in her wallaby t-shirt, her green canvas backpack on her shoulders. Ranger Mr. Aldi greets her at the gate and takes her to a grassy clearing, where a red-necked wallaby named Rosie grazes while her tiny joey Pip peeks from her pouch. Maya crouches down, keeps her voice low and starts to watch carefully.

During the visit, Mr. Aldi tells her how wallabies balance with their tails, thump the ground to warn their family, graze in the morning and evening and rest in the shade of a gum tree. Maya sketches in her notebook as Rosie grooms and nuzzles Pip, and she begins to think of the wallabies as a family with feelings, much like her own. Written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, this gentle tale about curiosity and empathy can be read on Masal İzle.
