Maya is an eight-year-old girl who lives in a small house at the edge of a sunny meadow. Her most treasured possession is her nature journal, a fat notebook with blank pages and a pocket for colored pencils. Every afternoon after school, she pulls on her yellow rain boots, grabs her canvas satchel, and goes outside to explore. One morning she hears a soft rustle near the old oak tree and discovers a mother fox with three fluffy pups living in a den under the roots. From that day on, the fox family becomes her secret friends, and she fills her journal with drawings and notes about them.

Maya wants to be a real wildlife scientist, so she visits the meadow every afternoon, keeping very still and very quiet. But one day she creeps closer than ever before to sketch the pups' tiny black noses, and a snapped twig sends them scrambling into the den in a panic. Her grandmother gently explains that wild animals need two things to be happy: freedom to roam and privacy to feel safe. Maya returns with a new plan, watching from a gentle hill where she can see without being seen, and learns that careful observation is a way of caring. This quiet, warm tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
