Mia, a curious girl with warm brown skin and curly black hair in two puffy buns, loves exploring the trails near her home after school, always carrying a notebook in her canvas satchel. One warm evening under a big fig tree, a tiny bat with soft russet-brown fur and big round amber eyes flutters down beside her, holding a juicy fig. As Mia watches him eat and drop seeds, she begins to wonder where those seeds will go.
Following the bat's flight path, Mia discovers little seedlings sprouting far from any parent tree and realizes the bat is scattering seeds across the forest, helping new plants grow. At school, her teacher Ms. Lily explains that bats are wonderful seed dispersers, and Mia decides to share what she has learned. With her best friend Theo, who at first finds bats creepy, she builds a display of cardboard, paint, and clay seeds showing how a bat carries fruit away and plants new trees. This gentle story by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL can be read on Masal İzle.
