Isabel visits a wetland sanctuary in her yellow rain boots, carrying a teal satchel and feeling both curious and a bit uncertain. There she meets Mara, a kind caretaker who introduces her to Cocoa, a calm capybara with shaggy reddish-brown fur and a green band around his neck. Through Mara's gentle guidance, Isabel learns that capybaras love water, enjoy company, and need quiet spaces to rest and digest. She watches Cocoa swim, shake off droplets, and flop onto the grass, discovering that being still and patient helps animals feel safe.

As the afternoon passes, Isabel notices how Cocoa stays close to the other capybaras and realizes that friendship matters to animals just as it does to people. When Cocoa approaches her, sniffing her boot and nudging her hand, she feels a warm connection and understands the importance of letting animals come to her. This experience inspires Isabel to create a guide for other children, filled with drawings and simple tips on how to be gentle and kind around wildlife.
