Built from a pink shell and driftwood, the Coral Post Office is a small but busy hub in the heart of the ocean, where sunlight filters through the water. Clement, a little red crab with a blue postal cap, sorts and delivers messages to dolphins, whales and sea turtles, and his friend Pearl, a swift dolphin, often lends a hand. One day a mysterious letter on a glowing leaf arrives, written in swirly script that nobody in the reef can read.
Clement and Pearl take the letter to Grandpa Tide, an old sea turtle, who says it comes from the deep trenches and holds a plea for help in finding a family. The two set off into the dark, cold depths, following clues hidden in the letter past blinking seaweed, a ribbon of kelp and a helpful lantern fish, until they meet Luma, a shy creature with glowing spots and ribbon-like fins.
