Henry lives in a small blue house by the sea and spends his mornings on the beach, getting to know the shells, stones and tide pools. His favourite spot is a quiet cove at the far end, where seals rest on the sand. He watches them from a distance and never goes close, since he knows they need calm and quiet to stay healthy.
One sunny Saturday, visitors crowd right up to the seals, waving and shouting, and the frightened animals move toward the water. Henry is unsure how to help until two marine conservationists, Mara and Finn, arrive and calmly explain why the seals need space. Henry asks how he can do more, and together they plan and paint bright wooden signs reminding everyone to keep their distance and use quiet voices. Written by Jane MEADOW, this gentle story about respect and observation can be read on Kids Tale Book.
