On a bright Saturday morning, Sam sets off for the pond at the edge of the wetlands, his mustard-yellow rain boots on and his canvas satchel packed with a notebook and pencil. There he encounters a tiny turquoise and blue dragonfly whose shimmering wings and bright green eyes seem to invite him to follow. What starts as a simple walk becomes a guided tour of the pond, with the dragonfly leading Sam from one wonder to the next.
As they move along the muddy edge and through the reeds, the dragonfly shares its life story: from a tiny egg, to a wingless nymph living underwater, shedding its skin many times, and finally emerging to dry its crumpled wings until they are strong and shiny. Sam also meets a frog on a lily pad, a snail gliding on a stem and a water beetle swimming in circles, learning that each creature starts small in this busy wetland nursery. He sketches and labels everything carefully. The tale, written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, can be read on Masal İzle.
