Leo spends his mornings in the school garden, kneeling beside the flowers with his blue notebook and drawing the bees that move from bloom to bloom. One day he spots a small bee vanishing into a hole in a wooden post rather than heading to a hive, and his teacher Ms. Lee explains that many native bees are solitary, nesting alone in hollow sticks or bare ground while still serving as vital pollinators.
Curious about where these bees can live safely, Leo joins his friend Maya, who suggests gathering hollow sticks, and with help from Ms. Lee and their classmates they set out to build a bee hotel and a patch of bare soil. The children stack sticks into a wooden frame, tie it to a sunny fence, and dig the ground, then wait and watch as Leo records each new detail in his notebook. This calm nature story by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba.
