Splash the dolphin spends her days chasing bubbles and somersaulting near the big coral reef. One morning, a little brass compass on a seaweed cord bumps her nose, and when she slips it around her neck it glows turquoise and points toward the reef. Something is wrong there: the parrotfish are not crunching coral and the clownfish hide in their anemones. Together with her best friend Pip, a brightly scaled parrotfish, Splash follows the compass to learn what has happened.

The needle brings the two friends to a pale, fading patch of reef, where an old green sea turtle named Tide explains how careless anchors, litter and warm water have harmed the coral. A hidden grotto leads them to Granny Coral, who gives them a tiny piece of living coral to plant and a seed pod that cleans water. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER, which can be read on Masalcı Baba, follows the friends as they gather other sea creatures to care for the reef, with the compass glowing brightest wherever the water is healthy.
